Bass without pulling strings
Patrick Fiekers has extensively tested the nuSub XW-800 slim for digitalvd.de. His conclusion on 20 July 2025:
„Ob für Heimkino, Gaming oder einfach nur ein volles Klangbild beim Musikhören: Der nuSub XW-800 slim beweist, dass Bass nicht einfach nur laut, sondern klug gemacht sein muss. Nur dann ordnet sich der Subwoofer mit seinen tiefen Bässen gut in den Raum und das Lautsprecher-Setup ein. Der Subwoofer agiert auf den Punkt, ist nie lästig oder dröhnt. Und das Beste: er verschwindet bei mir unter dem Sofa. Lediglich für dem Staubsaugerroboter, der bei mir ebenfalls unter dem Sofa startet, musste ich eine Sperrzone dafür einrichten.
Der Nubert nuSub XW-800 slim hat mir den Spaß mit Subwoofern im Heimkino zurückgebracht. Keine Frage, ein ordentlicher Bass war immer schon spaßig. Aber die Aufstellung im Raum und oftmals die Größe dazu, konnte einen vor Herausforderungen stellen. Das hat nun ein Ende.“

Only then does the subwoofer with its deep bass fit well into the room and the speaker setup. The subwoofer performs precisely, is never annoying or boomy. And best of all, it disappears under my sofa. I only had to set up a restricted zone for the robot vacuum cleaner, which also starts under my sofa.
The Nubert nuSub XW-800 slim has brought back my enjoyment of subwoofers in home cinema. There's no question that decent bass has always been fun. But positioning it in the room, and often its size, could present challenges. That's now a thing of the past.]
