At 41 Hz, it penetrates low bass ranges that are otherwise only reached by floorstanding speakers. This makes the B-40 just as suitable for stereo as for home cinema, even without a subwoofer.
Music detail
The nuBoxx B-40 was developed for the best possible detail in music, and you notice this with every piece of music it plays.
Surround speakers
In surround applications, the nuBoxx B-40 really comes into its own, ideally combined with the nuBoxx B-50 as a centre and a subwoofer from the nuSub-Series.
Space-saving with stand or on the wall
As a rear speaker on the wall or on a stand, the nuBoxx B-40 convinces with details and bass without taking up too much space.
PC speakers
The nuBoxx B-40 can also be used on a PC for games and music, and in combination with our nuConnect ampX we have the perfect set.
Details
nuOva B tweeter
The newly developed tweeter provides the detailed sound above 2.0 kHz that you have always wanted. Multi-layer damping and a sophisticated drive system ensure minimal resonance and thus low distortion in every frequency range. Your advantage: Instruments and voices are reproduced at a level far above the entry level.
Front panel
The front panel of the nuOva-B was manufactured in several hundred versions via 3D printing and rapid prototyping in order to achieve the ideal harmony between the radiation behaviour of the tweeter and the sound guidance at the front of the cabinet. Your advantage: a wide sweet spot with first-class stage imaging.
B² woofer
Our woofers with B² technology impress with bass power far beyond their size ratio. To achieve this, we use a powerful magnet system with high excursion for level bass reproduction. Your advantage: compact dimensions with a sound worthy of a floorstanding speaker.
nuTerminal and turnout
Our terminal is nickel-plated for the best possible contact and elegant appearance on the back as well. Foil capacitors for the best linear sound and protective circuits against overload are integrated for the crossover. Your advantage: durable components ensure a purchase that lasts a lifetime and sound that does not change over the years.
Colour
More variety in set-up: to match our nuPro, nuLine and nuVero series, the nuBoxx now also comes in timeless black and white. This gives you even more freedom when combining your set-up. Fabric trims in new colours also offer more individuality. The nuBoxx thus fits in with any home décor.
The versions with a grey front come with a grey-melted fascia as standard. For boxes in black and white, the covers in the desired colour can be ordered as an option!
Design
The simple design makes the nuBoxx models a timeless work of art. The simple attachment of the cover with magnets, provides the best possible protection for your speakers. The acoustically permeable fabric ensures transparent sound and an elegant appearance. Our product designer explains the background in a video.
Series overview
Our nuBoxx series is in the tradition of all Nubert speakers and aims to reproduce sound as naturally as possible. Our entry-level series comprises a total of six models that can be combined with the subwoofers from the nuSub series. This makes it possible to put together stereo systems as well as complete surround sets with excellent sound.

noble & fein & tief
First of all, I would like to thank Mr. Bretzler very much. You took so much time and I listened to your lecture about acoustics, the physiological hearing and a lot of technical information. Yes, the nuBoxx B-40 is for me THE loudspeaker that suits my listening room (25sqm) and that I found after comparing it with other LS from other manufacturers. Of course there are compact speakers from D..., K... or C... for a four-digit amount and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. But the B-40 impressed me a lot. Noble is the right word and I don't just mean the high quality optics, but the sound. It resolves very finely without dissecting, rather a bit warm. Voices and instruments are so clear and natural that the slogan "honest speakers" is to be taken literally. I am a bass fan. I'll get to that. We started with Depeche Mode, then a concert album by Eurythmics in the rock version, ACDC and then Bach. That was so - sit back and enjoy. A speaker where you can just listen through the music. I found other more expensive speakers tiring after 20 minutes sometimes. And they seem to draw their power from behind the depth. That's what I mean by classy. With my eyes closed, I hear a larger and heavier speaker. "Sounding like a floorstanding speaker" is true. Yes, now comes the bass. That was a weighing question B-40 or nuLine34. I like listening to electro. Few speakers play this clean and structured to their physical lower limit. Bass lines are never blurred. The bass is throaty and has punch, filling the room and bringing the music to life. I tuned a small but fine Yamaha system with the nuBoxx B-40. Next to it is another T10, which now no longer consumes power. The T10, which in itself is not bad, is nowhere near precise enough compared to the B-40's. The 900ér from Nubert is on my radar. The 652 stands make a real impression instead of the MS-67 - a feast for the eyes and worth the price. In addition, the thick 4'er cables nuCable LS Studioline (In-Akustik). nuBoxx B-40: Buy recommendation - of course!

nuBoxx B-40
I bought the nuBoxx B-40 in May 23 and was skeptical at first whether really good boxes are possible for this small money. The boxes arrived excellently packaged within 3 days from order with me in Vienna. Unpacked, examined, simple but very nicely finished, only the pre-glued feet disturb if you want to put a box as I horizontal. Here would be some to stick on yourself very nice, but at least you should use black feet, the pre-mounted transparencies act really disturbing. Connected to my Marantz NR1200 - tried and thrilled. Rich defined bass response, clear mids no sharp highs. Balanced, neutral sound. Even after about 3 months I have not had enough of it and love these boxes as on the first day. The nicest compliment was made by a musician I know, classical drummer, his wife is a classical pianist, he just said "the piano sounds like a piano". Very good. My conclusion on the nuBoxx B-40, who wants good sound for all days and is not willing to pay double or more will be well served here.

Sounds like a floorstander...
Only 26 hours after the order was the 21.95 kg - box in the living room, faster it hardly goes, right? And we live high in the north at the Baltic Sea... Packed as always: earthquake-proof and yet easy to unpack. With printed detailed instructions and tips! Wonderful, elsewhere there are only digital instructions... After a few hours of acclimatization, the first test: wow! Wonderful sound and rich bass! Vinyl in Pure Direct: crystal clear and with bass! After extensive calibration by the Marantz AVR, the two B-40s together with the XW-700 and 5 other speakers from Nubert sounded so great in 7.1 that it's hard to believe: a Marvel movie with these speakers: a pleasure! Stereo music from Bluray or CD: almost brings tears to my eyes..., whereby the subwoofer is not necessary at all, because what the two are doing is simply sensational! The B-40 sound with closed eyes like floorstanding speakers. They must have shocked the competition with this sensational price-performance ratio. Great job, dear Nubert people!

Box type, sound and recommended use
The outstanding strengths of the nuBoxx B-40 include its visually and acoustically confident appearance and its wide range of applications. As the larger of the two compact speakers in the series, the B-40 surpasses the top sonic performance of its smaller sister, particularly in terms of maximum level and bass capability. It is even more powerful, is recommended for larger rooms or listening distances and penetrates ten Hertz further into the sub-bass range: up to 41 Hertz, measured at the -3 decibel point. This allows it to impressively bring out even deep organ concerts or demanding synthetic bass lines.
The main reason for this, apart from the larger cabinet volume, is the newly designed bass-midrange driver with a diameter of 180 millimetres. It relies on a particularly powerful magnetic drive, sets impressive amounts of air in motion with almost three centimetres of travel, is optimally directed by the precisely tuned crossover and always remains calm even beyond room volume. The nuOva B tweeter, also newly developed, ties in harmoniously with the midrange at 2,000 hertz and seamlessly continues the excellent performance of its playing partner. Whether classical or rock, soundtrack or studio album, loud or soft, gentle or brute - the nuBoxx B-40 always plays honestly, with power and grace, without glossing over or swallowing up details.
So if you can spare a little more space in your listening room than the more compact B-30 takes up, if you can give your speakers more room but want to challenge them even more, if you place even more value on a solid bass foundation, then it's best to opt for the nuBoxx B-40 - whether for the stereo system, for the home cinema system or for multimedia applications.
Construction principle/housing
Two-way compact loudspeaker in bass reflex design. The 16-millimetre-thick cabinet walls are made of acoustically advantageous and robust wood-fibre material (MDF). Precisely calculated internal bracing and strategically positioned damping elements not only increase the mechanical stability of the construction, but above all suppress resonances that are harmful to the sound. The housing body and the baffle are coated with a high-quality, robust decorative film in black or white. The optional, removable front cover, which is available in various colours, is covered with high-quality acoustic fabric and adheres magnetically so that the elegant appearance is not impaired by visible mounting sockets. With the supplied elastic buffers, the box finds secure footing.
Chassis
The nuBoxx B-40 is equipped with a 26 millimetre tweeter (nuOva B) and a 180 millimetre bass-midrange driver (B² technology).
All nuBoxx models rely on the same silk-fabric tweeter dome, developed on the basis of the advanced nuOva chassis of the nuLine series and christened nuOva B. A multi-layered damped rear chamber volume behind the oscillating system ensures a particularly harmonious frequency transition to the bass-midrange driver, while the carefully designed and precisely manufactured front panel with wide dispersion sound control optimises the dispersion characteristics and fine detailing of the super-high frequency range above 7 kilohertz. The new nuBoxx tweeter thus sets standards in terms of resolving power and allows the audience to enjoy maximum listening pleasure even outside the narrowly defined "sweet spot".
The 180-millimetre bass-midrange driver with polypropylene cone relies on a particularly strong and responsive magnetic drive. Its streamlined design and the generous rear ventilation of the spider avoid compression effects and cool the extra-long voice coil under high continuous load. Due to the particularly wide and flexible diaphragm clamping with low fundamental resonance, the maximum linear excursion could be significantly increased compared to previous driver models, which enables a particularly profound and level-fixed bass reproduction. The total excursion of the woofer is almost three centimetres. Special design measures also prevent the diaphragm from "breaking up" at higher frequencies (keyword: partial vibrations), despite its robust suspension. In combination with the generously dimensioned cabinet volume, the nuBoxx B-40 achieves an impressive lower cut-off frequency of 41 Hertz at -3 decibels. Elaborate correction elements in the magnet system and further optimisations ensure a resonance-free frequency response and minimal distortion values in the critical midrange, right up to the coupling to the tweeter, which favours the use of this driver in a two-way design.
Crossover
The crossover separates the signal paths, linearises the driver systems and optimises the impulse and phase. As usual with Nubert, the circuit board is of above-average complexity and equipped with long-term stable film capacitors at the sound-critical points. A reliable protection circuit cuts off the amplifier current to the chassis and crossover in the event of an impending overload and then automatically resets itself to normal operation.
Connection terminal
All nuBoxx speakers are equipped with a completely redesigned connection terminal, which is precisely recessed in the lower area of the rear panel. The bi-wiring terminal of previous nuBox generations, which is rarely used in the entry-level class, has been replaced by two high-quality angled screw terminals with precision threads, which now also offer banana plugs a secure hold and an optimum contact surface.
