Michael Nothnagel from the specialist magazine Audiovision tested a nuBoxx 5.1 set for issue 01/2025. The setup consisted of the floorstanding speakers nuBoxx B-60, the universal B-50 as a center, and the compact B-40 for the surround section. In the low-frequency range, the now discontinued nuSub XW-700 was at work.

The AV conclusion: „Wer für kleines Geld ein groß aufspielendes 5.1 -Set sucht, liegt mit dieser Kombi aus der nuBoxx-Reihe genau richtig. Dass die eher schlichte Optik nicht den höchsten Lifestyle-Ansprüchen gerecht wird, verzeiht man da gerne.“

[Loose translation: “For those looking for a big-sounding 5.1 set at a small price, this combination from the nuBoxx series is exactly the right choice. The rather simple design not meeting the highest lifestyle demands is easily forgiven.”

The AV rating is therefore also very good (with 80 out of 100 points).
In addition, the editorial team awarded this nuBoxx set the “BEST VALUE” recommendation.
