• Turn off the amplifier before connecting the speaker cables.
• Place the speaker only in a dry location.
• Do not expose the speakers to direct sunlight.
• Overload: The nuVero 140 has internal fuses to protect against amplifier-induced overload. However, even a weak amplifier can damage the speaker. At high volume levels, weak amplifiers tend to distort, putting extreme stress on the tweeters. If the sound becomes distorted, reduce the amplifier's volume immediately.
• Tipping Hazard: Due to its slim design, the nuVero 140 is prone to tipping sideways. Always use the supplied traverse feet to ensure stability.
• Warning: The nuVero 140 can produce peak volume levels that, if listened to for extended periods, may cause permanent hearing damage. Volume settings are at the user's own risk. Nubert accepts no liability for hearing damage resulting from improper use.

Cold Weather and Sound

If speakers are delivered during cold weather, they must acclimate to the room's temperature. Low temperatures significantly affect the movable parts of a speaker, such as the diaphragm/voice coil, surround, and spider. These components' ability to handle rapid vibrations or large movements is reduced. While this is not harmful, "frozen" speakers cannot perform at their best.

Tip: If your speakers arrive on a cold winter day, let them acclimate for a few hours before use. Your Nubert speakers will deliver the outstanding sound quality you expect once they are at room temperature.

Warning

The threaded inserts are intended only for attaching the traverse feet. They are not designed to bear tensile loads and must not be used to hang the speaker with hooks or similar items.

Positioning the Speaker

All steps for unpacking and positioning the nuVero 140 are detailed in the included A3 instruction sheet.

Due to the heavy weight of the nuVero 140, always handle it with two people! After unpacking the speaker and attaching the traverse feet, remember to protect your flooring by placing cardboard or similar material under the edges of the base feet before setting it upright.

1. Take one of the corner protectors from the packaging.
2. Slide it under the lying speaker so the traverse foot rests against the corner protector.
3. Carefully tilt the speaker over the corner protector until it stands securely. Then gently remove the cardboard strips.

Connection Instructions

Ensure that your amplifier/receiver is turned off before connecting the speakers. Refer to the user manual of your amplifier/receiver for detailed instructions on how to connect the speakers properly.

Care and Cleaning Tips

Caution!

Improper handling of the speaker can cause damage.

• Turn off your amplifier before cleaning the speaker and disconnect the speaker cables if necessary.
• Ensure all connections are correct, no short circuits are present, and the speaker is completely dry before powering on.
• Never use harsh cleaning agents or solvents like gasoline, alcohol, or similar substances.

Cabinet

We recommend using standard glass cleaner sprayed onto a cotton cloth to remove fingerprints and dirt effectively. Alternatively, window cleaning foam can be used. Avoid microfiber cloths as they may cause small scratches on the surface. For veneered cabinets, we recommend furniture care products.

Membranes and Speaker Chassis

Use a lint-free cotton cloth to gently remove dust from a speaker diaphragm. All Nubert tweeters are protected by grilles, allowing them to be wiped lightly. For stubborn dust, a makeup brush from a drugstore may be used.

Stands and Traverses

For cleaning stainless steel surfaces, plant gloss spray has proven to be an excellent choice. Rub or polish it in with a cotton cloth.

Bi-Amping

Caution!

Remember to remove the bridges on the terminal block!

Bi-amping involves separate signal feeds for the bass/midrange and treble sections (Bi-Amping = Dual Amplifier). This requires a preamplifier connected to two stereo power amplifiers: one for the bass/midrange section and the other for the treble section.

Bi-amping can lead to more precise control of the drivers, improving sound accuracy. However, the effort and results must be carefully considered.
