Rotel’s second-largest stereo amplifier delivers massive power with 200 watts per channel and drives even the largest hi-fi systems with ease. The RB-1582 MKII is capable of effortlessly driving even large speaker systems. It was developed with the goal of reproducing both the finest details and dynamic impulses with great authority. It achieves this balance so excellently because both the fundamental circuit design and the selection of optimal components were carried out with the utmost care.
The basis for the Rotel RB-1582 MKII’s enormous performance is its high-performance power supply, which relies on a generously sized toroidal transformer combined with special storage capacitors that provide no less than 60,000 μF of storage capacity. This ensures the outstanding voltage stability of this powerhouse. The extremely short charging and discharging times of the BHC “slit-foil” capacitors ensure high signal fidelity even when sweeping crescendos or rich drum kick impulses demand peak performance from this power amplifier.
Following the shared toroidal transformer, the two power amplifier groups are essentially designed as a monoblock configuration. Grounding is strictly star-shaped. The power amplifiers themselves are built using discrete components; no fewer than ten individual transistors per channel handle the current amplification. Inputs include either balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA jacks.
Speakers with below-average efficiency or complex impedance characteristics place high demands on an amplifier in terms of output power and load stability. Large rooms also present enormous challenges for an amplifier, as only raw power counts when high sound pressure levels are required. And it is precisely for these applications that the Rotel RB-1582 MKII was developed.

Touching uninsulated terminals or wiring may result in an unpleasant sensation.
You must allow a minimum 10 cm or 4 inches of unobstructed clearance around the unit.
WARNING: The rear panel power cord connector is the mains power disconnect device. The device must be located in an open area that allows access to the cord connector.
The unit must be connected to a power supply only of the type and voltage specified on the rear panel. (USA: 120V/60Hz, EC: 230V/50Hz)
Connect the component to the power outlet only with the supplied power supply cable or an exact equivalent. Do not modify the supplied cable.
The mains plug is the disconnect of the unit. In order to completely disconnect the unit from the supply mains, remove the main plug from the unit and the AC power outlet. This is the only way to completely remove mains power from the unit.
Use Class 2 wiring for speaker connections to ensure proper insulation and minimize the risk of electric shock.
