Our Questions for Hagen S. on Home Cinema Weeks:
Hello Hagen, thank you for your pictures. What speakers and electronics do you have installed in your home cinema, and why did you choose this setup?
I started with a typical entry-level set from another brand and eventually wondered if there wasn't a better option in terms of sound and aesthetics. That's when I discovered Nubert, and my first acquisition was the nuLine CS-174 center speaker. Since I was immediately impressed, the nuLine 284 quickly followed, and gradually my 7.2.4 Nubert setup was complete.
As I also enjoy listening to a lot of music and was confident that I could improve the stereo experience, I first switched to an Anthem AVR and later upgraded the front to the nuVero 140 (although the nuLine 284 already plays brilliantly).
As this hobby thrives on change, here's my (preliminary) setup, where there could still be some changes 😉:
*AVR: Anthem MRX740
*Front: nuVero 140 plus Crown XLS2002 amp plus ATM
*Center: nuLine CS-174
*Surround: 2x nuVero 50 plus Crown XLS1002 amp plus ATM
*Surround Rest: 6x nuLine WS-14
*Subwoofer: 2x nuSub XW-900
*Blu Ray, CD, SACD: Sony UBP-X1100ES
*Tidal Hifi: Bluesound Node 2i
What fascinates you about home cinema?
The allure of home cinema is that I can decide which movie to watch, when to watch it, and how long I want to watch it. Additionally, it brings joy to be able to enjoy exceptionally good sound within my own walls, whether it's stereo or surround. I also find it exciting to be able to influence the sound through changes in hardware, software, or room acoustics.
Which movie and series should one definitely not miss?
There are certainly many movies and series to mention, but spontaneously, I would nominate House of Cards and Breaking Bad as absolutely worth watching.
Thank you for the interview.
