Our Questions to Markus W. about Home Cinema Weeks:
Hello Markus, thank you for your pictures. What speakers and electronics do you have installed in your home cinema, and why did you choose this particular setup?
In "Theater 1," a 9.2 system with additional channel speakers is used, consisting of 1 x nuBox CS-2, 1 x nuBox CS-3, 2 x nuBox 660, 2 x nuBox 460, 2 x nuBox 380, 1 x nuLine CS-40, 2 x nuLine WS-12, 2 x nuLine RS-54, 1 x nuLine AW-1000, and 1 x nuVero AW-17. As accessories, there are 2 comfortable double cinema seats and a curved cinemascope screen with an electric curtain, along with an Onkyo 5008 as the receiver and the EPSON EH-TW 9200 as the light source. This fully-fledged home cinema is located under the sloping roof and has evolved continuously with the beginnings of Nubert home cinema speakers. Being born in 1975 in Schwäbisch Gmünd, I was early on infected with the Nubert virus when purchasing my first stereo speakers (nuBox 460) and convinced of the quality. Even these speakers, acquired in 1992, are still in use as rear speakers in the home cinema. Only the speaker chassis in the 460s had to be replaced once due to aging rubber, which was handled by Nubert employees accommodatingly, professionally, and at an absolutely fair price, confirming the well-deserved praise for Nubert's service from personal experience and rounding off a more than positive overall impression.
What fascinates you about home cinema?
My fascination for home cinema began with a love for film and the desire to experience it at home with a large screen and the best sound. Pursuing and realizing this dream started when I was a student with the purchase of the first stereo speakers from Nubert and continued over the years, evolving with each current home cinema setup from Dolby Surround to Dolby Digital. This journey of development is, of course, never-ending, which is why upgrading the existing system to Dolby Atmos with native 4K video is planned in the near future.
Which movie or series should one definitely not miss?
As a big film and series fan, one should not miss those created specifically for the home cinema experience with spectacular visuals and sound. In my opinion, this includes series like Westworld, Game of Thrones, Homeland, Sherlock, and film highlights such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy or more recently Dune, Tenet, Avatar, and the Marvel Avengers movies.
Thank you for the interview.
