Dipole speaker

In a dipole loudspeaker, one of the drivers on the front of the speaker (usually the tweeter) is opposed by a second driver on the rear, which is connected in reverse polarity. The indirect sound radiated by the rear chassis gives the speaker a sound image that is perceived as "airy".
