Genuine high-end features and authentic sound at an attractive price
In 1991, Pro-Ject triggered a revolution in the hi-fi world with the Pro-Ject 1. The success of this extremely affordable high-end turntable - especially in the heyday of the CD era - had its reasons: The Pro-Ject 1 had a simple but technically sensible design and was made entirely by hand in Europe from high-quality materials by experienced technicians.
The Pro-Ject 1 also had no unnecessary features and was a purely manual record player. All these choices made it a device with a fantastic sound - at an incredibly good price. The X1 is based on the same concept as the Pro-Ject 1, but has been improved in every aspect with modern materials and production processes.
- Improved cabinet: heavier, more solid, less resonant, new MDF material
- Improved platter: Resonance-free, heavier acrylic platter
- Improved motor decoupling: The new motor suspension decouples the tonearm and chassis more effectively from motor vibrations
- Improved tonearm: Extremely rigid, perfectly damped carbon/aluminum sandwich construction
- Improved counterweight: New anti-resonance counterweight with TPE* dampers reduces pickup/tonearm resonances
- Improved motor control electronics and electronic speed switching: A sophisticated DC/AC generator board supplies the motor with clean and stable power
- Improved feet: Height-adjustable, decoupling aluminum/TPE sandwich feet
- Improved cartridge: MM cartridge system Pro-Ject Pick it S2 MM developed and manufactured by the Danish analog specialist Ortofon
- Better audiophile features: Aluminum tonearm base with azimuth and VTA adjustment, one-piece tonearm tube without vibration-inducing detachable headshell
- Better cable: The scope of delivery includes an excellently shielded quasi-symmetrical and low-capacitance phono cable, which was specially designed by Pro-Ject for connecting turntables. This cable is essential for transporting the fragile signal from the cartridge to a phono preamplifier.
This design is carefully tuned to get the most important features at the best price. It is based on Pro-Ject's years of experience in building the best sounding turntables without breaking the budget.
The X1 has all the high-end features of a modern turntable to give you the greatest possible pleasure in listening to music. It is precisely this pleasure that Pro-Ject wants to offer its customers and all music lovers. And this can also be realized with attractive prices. The X1 makes a clear statement and is the counterpart to record players that include numerous features but make massive savings on sound quality. But all these features only last a very short time. And what use are they if you can't really enjoy the 20 minutes of a record side because of the poor sound? The benefit of these features only lasts a second at most, while the sound of the record player lasts many, many seconds longer.
Reliability and high sound quality - that's what music lovers are looking for. Just like in 1991.
The X1 is available in three different color options; the luxurious black or white eight-layer high-gloss finish and in a premium walnut veneer.
