Grand-class turntable of the new generation
Turntable in hi-fi design with ΔΣ-Drive, a new motor control technology that enables high rotational precision and minimal vibrations. The new drive motor, the three-layer platter and the highly rigid chassis ensure even better sound quality.
Details
Coreless direct drive motor for stable synchronization
With the SL-1300G, the use of a coreless direct drive motor prevents the uneven rotation of the platter known as cogging torque. In addition, the double rotor design reduces the bearing load while maintaining high torque and minimizing vibrations during rotation. In addition, the SL-1300G's motor has been redesigned to eliminate even minute vibrations that could affect sound quality. To improve rigidity, the same stator board reinforcement as the reference class SL-1000R/SP-10R has been used.
Motor drive system, ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive)
Experience a new dimension of audio precision with the ΔΣ-Drive - a state-of-the-art system that utilizes Technics' expertise in PWM signal processing. The drive system not only reduces harmonics, but also suppresses motor vibration for smoother, more precise rotation, ensuring rich music reproduction.
Three-layer platter
The platter has a three-layer construction with die-cast aluminum and a firmly bonded brass support. The entire rear side is covered with a damping rubber to prevent unwanted resonances and achieve high rigidity and vibration damping. This provides uniform rotational stability and higher inertia than the SP-10MK2, the standard direct drive turntable used by broadcasters worldwide, and more than twice the inertia of the SL-1200MK5.
Two-layer chassis construction
The SL-1300G is extremely stable thanks to a two-layer chassis construction that firmly connects the BMC and the die-cast aluminum chassis. Reinforcing ribs have been added between the motor and tonearm on the top. This improves rigidity and vibration damping.
High-precision fine balancing
Uneven weight distribution of the turntable leads to excessive vibrations or noise during rotation and therefore impairs the sound quality. For this reason, the balancing of the turntable is adjusted in the factory after each individual part has been assembled using a special, high-precision balancing machine. Turntables that have been adjusted are marked with a sticker saying "BALANCED", indicating that such an adjustment has been made.
High sensitivity tonearm
The tonearm, a crucial element for precise playback, follows the rotation of the record. The tonearm developed by Technics consists of a light, rigid aluminum tube in the traditional static universal S-shape. Thanks to a cardanic suspension and a high-precision bearing, it achieves a low breakaway torque, which is achieved by the manual assembly of experienced precision mechanics. This careful design ensures precise recording of the information in the record groove. There is also an additional weight on board that provides flexibility for a wide range of cartridges.
