Vintage-style elements include two illuminated VU meters, push buttons for source selection, a walnut-effect vinyl-wrapped cabinet, and a dark gray front panel featuring the original New Acoustic Dimension logo in 1970s cursive script.

The C 3050 features the latest generation of NAD’s future-proof Modular Design Construction, MDC2, allowing users to add new functions and features by inserting an upgrade module into the MDC2 slot on the rear panel. MDC2 is a completely new design that enables two-way communication between the expansion module and the host component. The optional MDC2 BluOS-D module adds two highly desirable features: BluOS high-resolution music streaming and Dirac Live room correction.

The MDC2 BluOS-D is equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet, giving you access to a vast array of music via BluOS, the award-winning wireless music management platform. With the intuitive BluOS Controller app, listeners can access over 20 popular streaming services, including several offering lossless and high-resolution audio such as Amazon Music Ultra HD, Deezer, Qobuz, and Tidal. BluOS supports high-res audio up to 24-bit/192kHz and offers MQA decoding and rendering for studio-quality streaming. With the MDC2 BluOS-D, you can also play music from your personal library and thousands of internet radio stations through the C 3050 stereo amplifier.

Music Everywhere

With the MDC2 BluOS-D installed, the C 3050 can be part of a whole-home music system with up to 64 zones, each with independent source and volume control. Play different music in different rooms or group zones together to play the same music throughout. MDC2’s two-way architecture allows the BluOS-D module to stream music from any source connected to the C 3050 to other BluOS-enabled components in your home.

The MDC2 BluOS-D supports Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, so you can play music directly from those apps and hand off playback to the C 3050. It also supports Apple AirPlay 2, allowing you to stream audio from any app on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac to the MDC2 BluOS-D. You can also control playback with voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Apple Siri.

Work with the Room

With MDC2 BluOS-D, C 3050 owners can address the weakest link in most music systems—the listening environment. Connect the included microphone to the USB port of the MDC2 BluOS-D and follow the easy instructions in the Dirac Live app. Dirac plays test tones through your speakers, analyzes the results, and then creates correction filters that counteract common acoustic problems such as standing waves and unwanted reflections. The improvements are stunning. When Dirac Live is enabled, you’ll experience tighter bass, more accurate tonality, and improved imaging. Thanks to MDC2’s two-way communication, these benefits extend to all sources connected to the C 3050. You can create up to five Dirac profiles for different listening positions or room conditions, such as with curtains open or closed.

Well Connected

With a wealth of digital and analog inputs, the C 3050 can accommodate all your source components. Vinyl lovers will appreciate the ultra-low-noise MM phono stage. For movie and TV enjoyment, the C 3050 includes an HDMI eARC port for connecting an HDTV, allowing the C 3050 to serve as the hub of a powerful 2.0- or 2.1-channel home theater system. The C 3050 also includes analog, coaxial, and optical digital line-level inputs.

You can connect two pairs of speakers with speaker A/B switching, as well as a subwoofer. Thanks to bidirectional aptX HD Bluetooth connectivity, you can stream audio from a smart device to the C 3050 or send audio from the C 3050 to wireless headphones. The C 3050 also includes a dedicated headphone amplifier and pre-out/main-in jacks so you can connect a more powerful amplifier and use the C 3050 as a preamp only. It comes with an IR remote and installation-friendly features like a 12V trigger and IR input.
