Perfect bass performance
The empirical knowledge gathered by Nubert engineers over decades has resulted in the nuSub XW-1200, Nubert's current flagship subwoofer. With a maximum possible low frequency response of 19 Hz, this top-of-the-range model achieves an absolute best value despite its relatively compact dimensions. Thanks to its powerful 420-watt amplifier and long-throw 32 cm downfire chassis, the component also delivers extremely powerful performance in the lowest frequency ranges. With its deep matt lacquer finish and elegant housing with rounded edges, it also looks perfectly at home in the living room. Of course, with X-Connect compatibility and X-Room Calibration, it offers all the advantages and features of the Nubert subwoofer portfolio.

Even more bass
The XW-1200 is the first choice when the focus is clearly on home cinema. The subwoofer is also ideal for setting up multi-subwoofer solutions (e.g. SBA). So nothing stands in the way of a 7.2.4 system.
Wireless Connection

High performance driver
The 12-inch driver was developed according to our requirements: high efficiency, high maximum excursion, low resonance frequency and precisely tuned to the parameters of the bass reflex enclosure. Your advantage: a subwoofer that combines depth and precision and ideally converts the available amplifier power into acoustic performance.
X-Connect und X-Connect Surround
Freedom for the woofer. The nuSub series can receive both X-Connect and X-Connect Surround and can therefore be directly connected wirelessly with many Nubert devices. By means of nuConnect trXS, the wireless technology can also be retrofitted to other systems. Your advantage: stable connection and free placement of the subwoofer.
X-Remote
Our subwoofers don't have an included remote control, because your smartphone takes care of that. Our Nubert X-Remote app works with the power-saving Bluetooth LE standard and provides access to all functions of the subwoofer. Your advantage: full control at all times and no more aiming necessary.
X-Room Calibration
Your smartphone is also the heart for our calibration function X-Room Calibration, which automatically corrects the bass by ± 6dB in the range of 20 to 160 Hz with fully parametric equalizers. IOS devices serve directly as a microphone for the algorithm, Android devices require an additional microphone due to different hardware equipment. Your advantage: Better bass reproduction for your listening position.
Colours
Our nuSub models are silk-matt and multi-layer lacquered. The choice is yours: White for a subtle look in the living room or timeless black as a statement for the home theater?
Design
The trend is towards greater integration into living spaces and a more inconspicuous appearance for loudspeakers. The design brief was therefore clear: a clean front with gentle curves. The result is a subwoofer that could be mistaken for a seat cube and blends in discreetly.
Series overview
Our nuSub series consists of 3 models, is the latest generation of our woofers and relies on downfire technology. The subwoofers are controlled via the Nubert X-Remote app and can be calibrated to the room via X-Room Calibration from your smartphone. In addition, all subwoofers can also be controlled wirelessly via radio.

If only the best is good enough, then the nuSub XW-1200 is exactly the right choice. With over 400 watts of impulse power and a lower cut-off frequency of 19 hertz, the largest and most powerful subwoofer in the nuSub series achieves impressive performance values, enabling it to master even the most demanding tasks with ease. Whether as a powerful effects device in a home cinema, as a soundbar support in a class of its own, in a wireless sub-sat system with compact speakers or as a partner for a high-end hi-fi system: the nuSub XW-1200 is recommended wherever there is a desire for maximum depth and earth-shattering bass impulses.
Thanks to its new amplifier module with higher continuous and music power, generous power supply reserves and, above all, its powerful 32-centimetre diameter low-frequency driver with ultra-wide excursion, the nuSub XW-1200 unleashes breathtaking low-frequency thunder or underscores living room concerts with harmonious undertones – depending on the application and sound material. In fact, the nuSub XW-1200 even surpasses the performance of the legendary nuLine AW-1100, which has won the ‘Subwoofer of the Year’ award from various trade magazines several times (see test references).
The nuSub XW-1200 scores with all the advantages of its more compact siblings, including the elegant, living room-friendly downfire design, convenient operation via smartphone app and wireless control via radio connection. Either an amplifier or active loudspeaker from Nubert's X generation (e.g. nuConnect ampX, nuXinema preAV, nuPro XS, etc.) or the nuConnect trXS serves as the transmitter. With this practical wireless module, even older AV receivers or stereo amplifiers can be made fit for the wireless age. Several nuSub woofers can even be operated simultaneously to achieve the most even and harmonious low-frequency distribution in the room. Alternatively, the nuSub XW-1200 can be easily connected via a line input.
There are also several options for operation. The crossover frequency and level can be easily adjusted using the rotary control on the rear of the subwoofer. Pressing the control switches between the two functions; the currently selected value is indicated by coloured LEDs. Control is even easier and more clearly presented graphically using our free Nubert X-Remote app for iOS and Android. The programme's calibration function even allows the subwoofer to be optimally tuned to the room acoustics. Booming effects or ‘bass holes’ are reliably reduced. This device can be paired with other X-platform products via the Nubert wireless standards X-Connect and X-Connect Surround.
Both standards transmit high-resolution sound data securely and with minimal latency. X-Connect transmits 2 channels at 192 kHz and 24 bits for maximum performance in stereo mode. X-Connect Surround, on the other hand, transmits up to 8 channels at 48 kHz and 24 bits to enable simple and elegant integration into multi-channel systems.
The speakers of the nuPro X and XS series and the ampX amplifier transmit in the X-Connect standard, as does the nuConnect trXS adapter. This adapter can also be used to integrate hi-fi and home cinema products from other manufacturers into the wireless network. The nuPro XS-8500 RC soundbase and the nuXinema preAV AV preamplifier transmit in the X-Connect Surround standard.
The models in our nuSub series can therefore be used to effortlessly expand stereo satellite speakers, soundboards and home cinema systems.
Design principle and housing
The nuSub XW-1200 is designed as an active bass reflex subwoofer in the so-called downfire design. This means that the chassis and bass reflex tubes radiate downwards. Solid feet with height-adjustable spikes ensure distance and horizontal stability. The special acoustic challenges of this design are mastered, among other things, by the clever use of a digital signal processor – more on this in the section ‘Control, app and room calibration’ below.
One of the advantages of the downfire design principle is its discreet appearance. With its even rectangular shape and gently rounded edges, the XW-1200 blends elegantly into virtually any interior design style. The connections and controls are discreetly located on the rear panel. The cabinet is made of robust and acoustically advantageous wood fibre material (MDF) and is finished with a high-quality silk matt lacquer.
Chassis
The nuSub XW-1200 uses a newly developed 32 cm chassis with a particularly long stroke. The inspiration and starting point was the driver of the legendary nuLine AW-1100, which was optimised for the requirements of this new subwoofer and the downfire design in the course of extensive testing. A wide, flexible surround enables particularly wide membrane deflections. The generously dimensioned drive with double magnet system is highly efficient and can generate enormous sound pressure levels with minimal distortion. To increase the load capacity in continuous use, all critical components have been thermally optimised. Final equalisation is performed by the integrated signal processor, which controls the chassis in the best possible way in every playback situation.
Amplifier module
The power amplifier in the nuSub woofers is based on the proven digital amplifiers in the nuPro series and offers the same high-quality signal processing and impressive efficiency. The power supply of the nuSub XW-1200 has been further developed and improved compared to the models in the nuSub XW-700 and 900 and provides significantly more impulse and continuous power. The output filters have also been adapted for the increased output power.
With 360 watts of nominal power and 420 watts of music power and maximum impulse fidelity, the nuSub XW-1200 delivers impressive bass performance in larger listening rooms. All settings are managed by the built-in digital signal processor (DSP).
Optional wireless operation
The subwoofers in the nuSub series have a line input that allows them to be connected to standard receivers and amplifiers with a sub output using a Y-cable. Alternatively, each subwoofer can also receive sound signals wirelessly. We recommend either our nuConnect ampX and nuXinema preAV amplifiers or a master speaker from the nuPro X and XS series (e.g. a nuPro XS-4000 or the nuPro XS-8500 soundbar) as transmitting stations. With the nuConnect trXS, we also offer a transmitter module that can be used to make conventional receivers fit for the wireless age. The wireless range is typically around 15 metres. The possibilities are endless!
Control, app and room calibration
As an alternative to the rotary control on the subwoofer, the system can also be operated using the free Nubert X-Remote app for iOS and Android. The app is particularly recommended for complex operating procedures, as it provides an overview of advanced functions such as setting the crossover frequency. The programme automatically adapts the menu interface to the features of the connected device. A speaker from the nuPro X series offers different functions than, for example, the nuConnect ampX integrated amplifier.
The app's advanced features include bass equalisation, which enables optimal low-frequency reproduction at the listening position and reliably minimises dreaded room modes. The application is very easy to use: Start the app, connect to the nuSub and navigate to the X-Room Calibration entry via the main menu at the top left. Now follow the instructions in the app to start the calibration. All you need to do is play and record the test signal (white noise) for a few seconds; the process is largely automatic. The smartphone or tablet then calculates the best possible tuning curve from the test signal played back and transmits it to the subwoofer's digital signal processor (DSP), where the calibration is permanently stored. The calibration can be stored in one of the preset slots, allowing you to compare the activated optimisation with the unmodified playback at any time. The X-Room Calibration function can be used in parallel with the other sound settings.
Please note: For technical reasons, calibration only works with current iOS devices without additional accessories. Android smartphones and tablets do not provide reliable measurement results due to the large number of microphones used with different parameters. The solution is the optional Nubert XRC Android Interface: a compact plug-in module that connects to the USB port (Type C) of the mobile device and provides the X-Remote app with access to a precise measurement microphone and a sophisticated analogue-to-digital converter. With this practical USB dongle, the measurement tone of the XRC system or the room response can be accurately recorded, after which the app can calculate the optimal correction curve and transfer it to the signal processor.
