This limited edition represents the pinnacle of the SL-1200 series and features a special gold design. It is available worldwide in silver: 1,200 units / black: 1,210 units – each one a unique symbol of the continuing SL-1200 tradition.* This model is the final version of the SL-1200G. Gold logo and serial number plate
Featuring a gold-colored embossed logo and serial number plate that identifies this limited edition.
Gold tone arm
Equipped with a magnesium tonearm with gold-colored finish.
Two colors: silver and black
Available as silver model SL-1200GME or black model SL-1210GME.
Three-layer turntable
The turntable has a three-layer construction with a solidly connected platter made of brass and die-cast aluminum. The entire rear is covered with damping rubber to prevent unnecessary resonance and achieve high rigidity and vibration damping. This ensures consistent rotational stability and a higher inertial mass than the SP-10MK2, the standard direct-drive turntable used by broadcasters worldwide, and more than twice the inertial mass of the SL-1200MK5.
High-level balance
Uneven weight distribution on the turntable causes vibrations and interference signals during rotation, which impair the audio signal. That is why the turntable of each individual device is finely balanced after assembly using special, high-precision devices. Only then does the turntable receive its "distinction": a sticker on the underside with the inscription "BALANCED."
Damping foot
A newly developed zinc isolator with αGEL™ gel material provides excellent shock absorption, ensures high vibration damping, and minimizes feedback.
Four-layer chassis construction
In addition to the classic three-layer chassis construction of the SL-1210Mk5 made of die-cast aluminum, BMC and heavyweight rubber, the SL-1200G features a 10 mm thick, polished top plate made of the purest aluminum. This four-layer composite construction combines high rigidity with an outstanding feel.
Tone arm
The tonearm is made of lightweight, cold-drawn magnesium for high precision. Thanks to Technics' gimbal suspension and high-precision bearings, high sensitivity is achieved during initial movement.
