  • Heed all warnings – Follow all warnings on the unit and in the operating instructions.
  • Follow all instructions – Follow all operating instructions and all other instructions provided.
  • Cleaning – Unplug the unit from the AC power outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Clean only with a damp cloth.
  • Attachments – Use only attachments and accessories recommended by the manufacturer to avoid potential hazards.
  • Water and moisture – Do not use this unit near water or in locations exposed to excessive moisture.
  • Accessories – Do not place this unit on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. If the unit falls, it may cause serious injury and severe damage to the unit. Use only a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the unit. Mount the unit only as instructed by the manufacturer and use only mounting accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Cart – A unit and cart combination should be moved with care. Sudden stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the unit and cart combination to tip over.
  • Ventilation – The openings in the enclosure are provided for ventilation to ensure reliable operation and protect the unit from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. Never block the ventilation openings by placing the unit on a bed, sofa, rug, or similar surface. Do not install the unit in a bookcase, cabinet, or enclosed space unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions have been followed.
  • Power sources – This product must be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the rating label and connected to a properly grounded AC outlet. If you are unsure of your local power supply, consult your dealer or local power company.
  • Power cord protection – Route power cords so they are not likely to be walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit the unit.
  • Power plug – If the mains plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, it must remain readily operable.
  • Outdoor antenna grounding – If an outside antenna or cable system is connected to the unit, ensure that the antenna or cable system is properly grounded to provide protection against voltage surges and static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70) provides information regarding proper grounding of the antenna mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, the size of grounding conductors, the location of the antenna discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and the requirements for the grounding electrode.
  • Lightning – For added protection during a lightning storm, or when the unit is left unattended and unused for long periods, unplug it from the AC outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will help prevent damage from lightning and power-line surges.
  • Power lines – An outside antenna system must not be located near overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits where it could fall into such lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, exercise extreme care to avoid contact with power lines or circuits, as contact with them could be fatal.
  • Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or power strips, as this may result in fire or electric shock.
  • Open flames – Do not place open flame sources, such as lighted candles, on the product.
  • Object and liquid entry – Never allow objects or liquids to enter the unit through openings, as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-circuit parts, resulting in fire or electric shock. Do not spill liquids onto the unit.
  • Headphones – Excessive sound pressure from earphones or headphones may cause hearing loss.
  • Servicing – Unplug the unit from the AC power outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
    • If the power cord or plug has been damaged.
    • If liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the unit.
    • If the unit has been exposed to rain or water.
    • If the unit does not operate normally when the operating instructions are followed. Adjust only those controls covered by the operating instructions, as improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and often requires extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the unit to normal operation.
    • If the unit has been dropped or otherwise damaged.
    • If the unit exhibits a distinct change in performance, indicating that service is required.
  • Replacement parts – Ensure that replacement parts used during servicing are original parts or have the same characteristics as the original parts. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
