The 8" driver was developed according to our requirements: High efficiency, particularly flat design with maximum excursion and precisely matched to the parameters of the bass reflex enclosure. Your benefit: a subwoofer with low power and space consumption that combines depth and precision and can be ideally adjusted via app.
X-Connect und X-Connect Surround
Freedom for the woofer. The nuSub series can receive both X-Connect and X-Connect Surround and can therefore be directly connected wirelessly with many Nubert devices. By means of nuConnect trXS, the wireless technology can also be retrofitted to other systems. Your advantage: stable connection and free placement of the subwoofer.
X-Remote
Our subwoofers don't have an included remote control, because your smartphone takes care of that. Our Nubert X-Remote app works with the power-saving Bluetooth LE standard and provides access to all functions of the subwoofer. Your advantage: full control at all times and no more aiming necessary.
X-Room Calibration
Your smartphone is also the heart for our calibration function X-Room Calibration, which automatically corrects the bass by ± 6dB in the range of 20 to 160 Hz with fully parametric equalizers. IOS devices serve directly as a microphone for the algorithm, Android devices require an additional microphone due to different hardware equipment. Your advantage: Better bass reproduction for your listening position.

Design
The trend is towards greater integration into living spaces and a more inconspicuous appearance for loudspeakers. The design brief was therefore clear: a clean front with gentle curves. The result is a subwoofer that could be mistaken for a seat cube and blends in discreetly.
Series overview
Our nuSub series consists of 4 models, is the latest generation of our woofers and relies on downfire technology. Never Operate the Loudspeaker Unattended!
Danger of Electric Shock!
To avoid the risk of electric shock, the speaker may not be opened by the user. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the speaker. If you need service, please contact Nubert electronic GmbH directly (info@nubert.de)!
Danger of Suffocation!
Never let children use or play with the speaker, remote control, or packaging unattended. There is a risk that children will get caught in the packaging film and suffocate. Make sure that children cannot remove any small parts from the devices! These parts, like the remote control battery, could be swallowed and cause suffocation. In case of swallowing any parts, contact a doctor immediately!
Danger of Injury or Damage!
When moving the speaker, take care to avoid injury and damage!
Caution!
Since the speaker can only be completely disconnected from the mains at the mains input on the rear of the unit or by pulling the mains plug from the socket, it must be positioned so that you have free access to the mains input or mains plug. If any of the following situations occurs, the loudspeaker must be switched off immediately and disconnected from the mains. Contact Nubert electronic GmbH (info@nubert.de) immediately:
- The speaker has been damaged or has fallen down.
- Power cord or plug is damaged.
- Objects or liquid have got into the loudspeaker.
- The speaker has been exposed to excessive moisture or rain.
- The speaker does not work properly or exhibits a significant reduction in performance.
- The loudspeaker smells burnt, develops smoke, or makes unusual noises.
Caution!
The driver in this loudspeaker produces a strong magnetic field in its immediate vicinity that can affect or damage other equipment close by. It is therefore imperative that you keep magnetically sensitive devices and items away from the loudspeaker. Never place CRT screens, notebooks, hard drives, or similar devices on the loudspeakers!

Installation Instructions
Caution!
An unstable location can damage the speaker.
- Only place the loudspeaker on a flat, stable surface and make sure that it cannot be knocked over!
- Also make sure that no unintentional pulling can occur on the cables to avoid knocking over the speaker or damaging the connection sockets!
- Keep strong mechanical shocks away from the loudspeaker!
Caution!
Excessive heat build-up inside the unit can shorten its service life or lead to fire.
- Never cover the back of the speaker! Make sure that there is a clearance of at least 10 cm and sufficient air circulation in the back area!
- Do not operate the speaker and remote control near heat sources such as radiators or stoves!
- Do not set the speaker and remote control to direct sunlight.
- Never place burning candles or similar open fire sources on the loudspeaker!
Danger of Explosion!
Installation in unsuitable locations can cause explosions. Do not use the speaker or remote control:
- In environments where there is a risk of fire or explosion.
- At extremely low or extremely high temperatures.
- Near flammable gases or vapours.
- Near strong dust or flammable materials.
Danger of Electric Shock!
The loudspeaker carries mains voltage and voltages higher than 35 V AC or DC inside. It has no special protection against the intrusion of liquids or objects into the system. There is therefore a risk of lethal electric shock.
- Never touch the speaker with wet hands!
- Only use the speaker in a dry place!
- Do not operate it outdoors or in damp rooms!
- Do not place any containers containing liquids (e.g. flower vases) on the speaker or in the immediate vicinity!
- If the loudspeaker is moved from a cold environment to a warm room, wait at least six hours for it to reach room temperature and dry before switching it on!
- Should the loudspeaker come into contact with liquids or objects get inside, unplug the mains plug immediately and contact Nubert electronic GmbH!
Danger of Injury or Damage!
The threaded bushings on the bottom of the speaker may only be used as described in the quick start guide! They are not designed for tensile loads perpendicular to the bottom of the housing and must therefore not be used as a mounting point for hooks or similar appliances to suspend the box from the ceiling. A falling speaker may cause serious injury and damage.

General Connection Instructions
- Disconnect the mains plug before changing any wiring on the system!
- Make sure that all connections have been made correctly and that all plugs are firmly seated in the sockets before connecting the speaker to the mains.
- Use only the intended cables or plug connections for the connections! Failure to do so may result in damage or malfunction.
- If you want to disconnect connections on the loudspeaker, always pull the plug, never the cable!
- Ensure that all plugs are firmly seated in the sockets!
- Only use cables and accessories recommended by Nubert!
Danger of Electric Shock!
Faulty mains supply systems or excessive mains voltage can lead to electric shocks.
- All power supply or antenna systems connected to the loudspeaker must comply with applicable laws and regulations and be professionally installed by an approved installation company.
- Use only the appropriate power cord to connect the speaker. Do not modify the power cord or its plug.
- Make sure that the mains voltage at your location matches the speaker's requirements. The correct power supply can be found on the label on the back of the speaker. It must not be connected to other power supplies.
- Devices of Class 1 construction must be connected to a mains power socket outlet with a protective earth connection. Ensure proper installation of the protective earth!
Caution!
Overvoltage in the power supply system (e.g. due to lightning) can damage or destroy the device and power supply unit.
- An overvoltage protection element can provide some degree of protection against excessively high voltages in the power grid.
- The greatest protection can only be achieved by completely separating from the mains supply. In case of thunderstorms or lightning strikes, disconnect the mains cable from the socket and any antenna plugs from your hi-fi system!
- If the speaker is unused for a long time or unattended, disconnect the power supply. Unplug the mains cable from the socket!
Care and Cleaning Tips
Caution!
Improper handling of the speaker may result in damage.
- Always unplug the speaker before cleaning it!
- Before recommissioning, make sure that all connections are correct, that there are no short circuits, and that the speaker is completely dry.
- Never use strong cleaning agents or solvents such as petrol, spirit, or similar!
Enclosure
We recommend commercial window cleaner sprayed onto a cotton cloth. This allows almost all fingerprints and dust to be easily removed. Alternatively, you can also use window active foam.
Note: We advise against the use of microfibre cloths! These can cause mini scratches in the surface.
Diaphragms and Speaker Chassis
To remove dust from a loudspeaker chassis, a lint-free cotton cloth is sufficient to wipe the membrane lightly with very little pressure.

Questions about subwoofers
Our customers increasingly want speakers that blend in better with their living spaces. Subwoofers should be as inconspicuous as possible. That is why we switched from front-firing to down-firing woofers at our customers' request. However, since 2025, we have once again had two powerful front-firing subwoofers in our range: the nuZeo 8w and the nuVero nova 1w.
If you want to use an Android smartphone with the X-Room Calibration, you need our XRC Android interface. This is necessary because the different phone manufacturers use different microphones, drivers and operating system versions. Due to the separate microphone, we can guarantee a good result.

Kompaktes Bass-Feuerwerk
Wir betreiben den nuSub XW-800 slim Subwoofer in einem 2.1 Setup mit nuJubilee 50 Aktivlautsprechern in unserem Wohnzimmer. Was der schlanke Nubert-Subwoofer dabei an Bass produziert, ist wahrhaft phänomenal. Ich mag es, Musik nicht nur zu hören, sondern auch körperlich zu spüren. Daher war ein in den Tiefen unterstützender Subwoofer zu unserem Aktiv-Lautsprecherpaar notwendig. Meine Frau wollte jedoch keinen klobigen Bass-Klotz mehr im Wohnzimmer stehen haben. Mit dem nuSub-XW 800 haben wir einen wunderbaren Kompromiss gefunden. Der Nubert-Subwoofer ist mit 14cm Bauhöhe so schmal, dass er bei uns unter dem TV-Lowboard verschwindet und damit fast unsichtbar ist. Lediglich die Frontseite mit dem Nubert-Schriftzug ist zu sehen und bildet eine stimmige, geschmackvoll zurückhaltende optische Einheit mit den nuJubilee-Lautsprechern. Absolut gar nicht zurückhaltend ist der Subwoofer jedoch in seiner Hauptfunktion, nämlich ein kraftvolles Bass-Fundament zu erzeugen. Wer denkt, dass ein ultrakompakter Flachsubwoofer keine ausreichende Leistung bringen kann, wird von diesem Nubert-Modell schnell eines Besseren belehrt. Der XW-800 bringt die Wände unseres 26m² großen Wohnzimmers wortwörtlich zum Wackeln. Insbesondere basslastige Genres wie Hiphop oder elektronische Musik sind ein wahrhafter Hörgenuss. Hier wird ein präzises, treibendes, nachdrückliches Bass-Feuerwerk gezündet, das nur als spektakulär bezeichnet werden kann. Unser o.g. 2.1 Setup ist absolut partytauglich und das Wohnzimmer verwandelt sich damit schnell zur Tanzfläche. Auch in Filmen und Serien oder beim Gaming sorgt der Slim-Subwoofer für beeindruckenden Tiefgang. Mit der X-Room-Calibration konnten wir eine kinderleichte Raumeinmessung per iPhone durchführen, um den Sound an die räumlichen Gegebenheiten anzupassen. In der Nubert App lassen sich dann auch sehr übersichtlich und einfach die gewünschten Feineinstellungen bequem vornehmen. Der nuSub XW-800 slim verdient aus unserer Sicht auf jeden Fall die volle 5-Sternebewertung, wir empfehlen diesen Subwoofer definitiv weiter!

Wirklich Powerfull & Diskret zugleich
Meine Lautsprecher brauchen eigentlich keinen Sub. Ich hatte ne Menge Bedenken. Wie harmoniert der Sub mit meinem Röhren Verstärker ? Ist der Sub unter dem Sofa wirklich nicht ortbar ? Was bringt die Einmessfunktion ? etc etc etc... Ich fass mich kurz : wirklich gut. Der Sound ist noch dreidimensionaler geworden. Tiefer + grösser . Ohne dick aufzutragen. Leise hören : ein Genuss. Power : eine Offenbarung. Und wie immer Nubert Service 1a. Mittwoch bestellt. Freitag morgen war die Lieferung in Paris. Fragen zur Installation ? Hotline in 2 Minuten ist alles geklärt.

Mega flexibel
Der AW 800 spielt bei mir an einer XS 8500 in diagonaler Aufstellung versteckt hinter einer Pflanze. Super runder Bass, ergänzt das Basserlebnis der XS 8500 gut! Es wird nicht lauter (brauch es auch nicht), aber nochmals wesentlich klarer und präziser. Wireless ist top.

Überallhin Sub für Unterstützung Stereowohlklang
„Nee die nuLine 264 brauchen keinen Subwoofer, die haben eh schon reichlich Bass“ Tscha das war ja das Problem. Der Raum ist ein Dröhnwunder und erlaubte Stellpositionen waren mitten in einer Mode. Feiner Lautsprecher im eigenen Basssumpf. 😁 Dieser überraschend kleine Sub lässt sich fast überall verstecken und hilft sehr dabei, super präzisen Bass (mit Hilfe von Dirac Live) zu erreichen. Egal ob stehend, liegend, unter einem Sessel. Man kann viel experimentieren, wie es am besten klingt. Im Moment liegt er in einer Ecke. Einziger Wermutstropfen: der Eingang braucht schon reichlich Signal, damit der Sub nicht einschläft. Wer leiser hört, wird den automatischen Standby nicht nutzen können.

Klein aber fein
Was soll ich sagen, als Hobby Dj ist er für mich ein Problem löser. Bei mir gibt es Raummoden die ich nur mit der richtigen Subwoofer position im Griff bekomme. Nur leider ist die Position da, wo der Subwoofer aber stört. Der xw-800 slim passt da aber durch sein kleines Maß perfekt. Ich habe ihn an die Wand gehängt. Die Schrauben sind zu kurz außer man hat eine Beton Wand. Nun mit langen Schrauben an die Wand und Musik an. Jetzt klappert er bei einer gewissen Frequenz also wieder ab und moosgummi auf die Wandschrauben und Musik an. Frequenzgang auf REW Software ansehen vor und nach der Korrektur der Nubert App (X-Remote). Die App von Nubert hat 2 Raummoden leicht gesenkt da hätte ich mir mehr gewünscht (vielleicht DSP). Fazit Sehr sehr gute Verarbeitung das kleine Gehäuse hat ordentlich Druck ich habe ihn auf -11 db eingestellt. Soundqualität beim einmessen mit REW Software habe ich Wind Geräusche am Bassreflexroh gehört aber beim Musik hören nicht mehr festgestellt. Das mitgelieferte Netzkabel und Cinch Kabel sind 3m das gefällt mir. Klare Kauf Empfehlung weiter so!

Erdbebenartige Bässe
Moin aus dem hohen Norden, zur Unterstützung unserer B-40, CS-64 und des XW-900 kam heute der XW-800 an. Wieder einmal: schnelle Lieferung, fantastisch verpackt. Zur Aufstellung: Von meinem ursprünglichen Plan, den XW-800 auf der Rückseite des Wohnzimmers hinter der Couch senkrecht aufzustellen, bin ich nach Beratung durch einen Nubert-Mitarbeiter abgewichen (sehr lange Kabelstrecke, Platzprobleme) und habe ihn stattdessen hochkant HINTER den OLED-LED-TV gestellt, sodaß beide Subwoofer von vorne arbeiten. Der Klang? Unglaublich! Kaum zu fassen, welche deftigen, satten und sauberen Bässe jetzt von vorn kommen! Nach dem Einmessen war es schlicht unfassbar, was sich nun tat. Keine Bassauslöschung, keine Basslöcher, dafür schöner tiefer Bass am Hörplatz. Hörtipp: Massive Attack: Mezzanine und ähnliches… Ich bin wieder mal begeistert und gratuliere der Firma Nubert… Schöne Grüße, Wolfgang

der Wolf im Schafspelz
Da ich schon länger auf der Suche nach einem kompakten Woofer, der dennoch genügend Performance bietet war, habe ich auch mal bei dem Subwoofer Spezialisten schlecht hin vorbeigeschaut, der Firma Nubert. Und tatsächlich ist hier ein flacher Subwoofer im Programm, der XW-800. Von den Maßen schon mal genau das, nach dem ich gesucht habe. Jetzt war nur noch die Frage: kann der was? Die Daten waren schon mal vielversprechend, also gleich mal bestellt. Freudig alles ausgepackt, angeschlossen, dezent unterm Sofa versteckt (der passt da echt drunter... verrückt) und aufgedreht. Dann die mit einem breiten Grinsen verbundene Erkenntnis: der kleine, so harmlos wirkende Woofer ist ein richtiger Krawallmacher. Richtig tolles Gerät, der sauber die tiefen Frequenzen abzubilden vermag und das mit richtig Wumms. Danke Nubert, ihr habt mir genau das bieten können, nach dem ich gesucht habe.

Speaker type, sound, and recommended use
The nuSub XW-800 slim is the most flexible subwoofer in the Nubert range. Because it is particularly space-saving and low-profile, and can be operated both horizontally and upright, the nuSub XW-800 slim fits wherever a conventional woofer does not. Despite its compact dimensions, Nubert’s lowest and most elegant subwoofer delivers astonishing bass pressure and gives living-room concerts or movie nights impressive depth. In addition, this versatile all-round woofer offers exactly the same strengths as its larger siblings, including convenient app control and optional wireless operation. This makes the nuSub XW-800 slim the ideal choice for ultra-compact sub-sat sets or small but demanding home cinema systems.
What makes the nuSub XW-800 slim so unique is its special design: slim and compact, with the bass reflex port on the side and the long-throw 22-centimeter driver on the bottom. Two sturdy metal rails provide the necessary distance from the surface and can serve not only as feet but also for wall mounting. This allows the compact bass specialist to be used either lying flat or upright, positioned flexibly or permanently installed: under an armchair, behind a shelf, or even mounted on the wall behind the TV. Automatic calibration via the smartphone app ensures that the woofer always makes optimal use of its sound potential in any orientation and position.
The nuSub XW-800 slim uses the same powerful amplifier electronics as the nuSubs XW-700 and XW-900 and offers the same settings and connection options. In addition to the classic wired connection, this includes optional wireless control with speakers from the nuPro X series or with the nuConnect trXS transmitter module (more information in the box below). This allows the XW-800 slim to be used particularly discreetly: a power connection is all that is needed, while the connection to the AV receiver is made easily via radio. The driver is a further development of the proven XW-700 driver and delivers powerful, driving bass lines down to 36 hertz (at -3 decibels). Operation is possible either via a simple rotary control on the connection panel or conveniently via the Nubert X-Remote app. With an Android or iOS smartphone, X-Room Calibration can also be used to optimize bass reproduction for the room conditions – more on this in the box below.
This device can be paired with other products from the X platform using the Nubert wireless standards X-Connect and X-Connect Surround. Both standards transmit audio data in high resolution, securely, and with minimal latency. X-Connect transmits 2 channels at 192 kHz and 24 bit for maximum performance in stereo operation. X-Connect Surround, on the other hand, transmits up to 8 channels at 48 kHz and 24 bit to enable simple and elegant integration in multichannel systems. The speakers of the nuPro X and XS series and the ampX amplifier transmit using the X-Connect standard, as does the nuConnect trXS adapter. This adapter also allows hi-fi and home cinema products from other manufacturers to be integrated into the wireless network. The nuPro XS-8500 RC soundbase and the nuXinema preAV AV preamplifier transmit using the X-Connect Surround standard. With the models in our nuSub series, stereo satellite speakers, soundboards, and home cinema systems can therefore be expanded effortlessly.
Design principle and cabinet
The nuSub XW-800 slim is designed as an active bass reflex subwoofer in a so-called downfire configuration. This means that the driver radiates toward the floor; the bass reflex port is positioned on the side. Because the nuSub XW-800 slim is particularly flat and compact, it can be used in places and living situations where a conventional subwoofer would not fit, for example under or behind seating furniture. Alternatively, the nuSub XW-800 slim can also be operated upright, in which case the orientation of the driver and reflex port changes accordingly. In every position, two metal rails ensure the optimum distance from the respective boundary surface. Keyhole mounts on these rails also allow the subwoofer to be attached to the wall. It is essential to ensure that the surface can support the weight of the subwoofer and withstand the transmitted vibrations.
Driver
The nuSub XW-800 slim uses a 20-centimeter driver with extra-long excursion, specially optimized for the requirements of this subwoofer and for reproduction that is as powerful as possible. The wide, flexible surround allows particularly large cone excursions. The generously dimensioned motor system offers high efficiency and can generate high sound pressure levels with minimal distortion. Additional equalization is provided by the integrated signal processor, which optimally controls the driver in every playback situation.
Amplifier module
The power amplifier of the nuSub woofers was designed on the basis of the proven digital amplifiers from the nuPro series and offers the same high-quality signal processing and impressive efficiency. With 180 watts rated power and 250 watts music power, as well as excellent impulse fidelity, the nuSub XW-800 slim delivers impressive bass performance in small to medium-sized listening rooms. Compared with the nuSub XW-700, the XW-800 slim plays slightly less deep, but reaches higher levels. All settings are managed by the built-in digital signal processor (DSP).
Optional wireless operation
The subwoofers in the nuSub series feature a line input that allows them to be connected to standard receivers and amplifiers with a subwoofer output using a Y-cable. Alternatively, each subwoofer can also receive audio signals wirelessly. Recommended transmitters include our nuConnect ampX and nuXinema preAV amplifiers or a master speaker from the nuPro X and XS series (for example a nuPro XS-4000 or the nuPro XS-8500 soundbar). With the nuConnect trXS, we also offer a transmitter module that brings conventional receivers into the wireless age. The wireless range is typically around 15 meters. The possibilities are many!
Control, app, and room calibration
As an alternative to the rotary control on the subwoofer, operation can also be carried out using the free Nubert X-Remote app for iOS and Android. The app is particularly recommended for more complex operating procedures, as it presents advanced functions such as setting the crossover frequency in a very clear way. The program automatically adapts the menu interface to the features of the connected device. A speaker from the nuPro X series offers different functions than, for example, the nuConnect ampX integrated amplifier.
The app’s advanced features include bass equalization, which enables optimal low-frequency reproduction at the listening position and reliably minimizes dreaded room modes. Using it is very easy: start the app, connect to the nuSub, and navigate via the main menu at the top left to X-Room Calibration. Then follow the app’s instructions to start the calibration. All that is required is to play and record the test signal (white noise) for a few seconds; the process runs largely automatically. The smartphone or tablet then calculates the best possible tuning curve from the reproduced test signal and transfers it to the subwoofer’s digital signal processor (DSP), where the calibration is permanently stored. The calibration can be saved to one of the preset slots, allowing comparison between activated optimization and unchanged playback at any time. The X-Room Calibration function can be used in parallel with the other sound settings.
Please note: For technical reasons, calibration only works with current iOS devices using onboard resources. Due to the wide variety of microphones with different parameters, Android smartphones and tablets do not provide reliable measurement results. The solution is the optional Nubert XRC Android Interface: a compact plug-in module that connects to the USB port (Type C) of the mobile device and gives the X-Remote app access to a precise measuring microphone and a highly advanced analog-to-digital converter. With this practical USB dongle, the measurement tone of the XRC system or the room response can be captured precisely; the app can then calculate the optimal correction curve and transfer it to the signal processor.
